At the first hint of symptoms from a cold or flu, (before symptoms have a chance to go "viral") taking multiple doses of one or more of the following herbs or vitamins may quickly boost immune system function enough to stop illness in its tracts, or at least shorten illness duration. To maximize health, experiment with the effectiveness of the following remedies: Echinacea, Astragalus, Lomatium, Licorice, Andrographis, garlic, Elderberry, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, or Zinc. Of course the immune booster that trumps all others is sleep, as few remedies are powerful enough to overcome illness when rest is lacking.
