Benefits of Meditation

Great Tuesday Morning!!

I have previously posted about the benefits of mediation, but here is a refresher post. On most days, I meditate twice a day for 20 minutes. Since I have taken up the practice of meditation, my life has changed for the best. My stress level is down, and I have much more peace in my life.

If you are finding yourself in a chaotic state of mind due to the holiday seasons; take a few minutes out of your day to meditate. You will be amazed by the benefits, if you practice the law of consistency.

Many monks have known for generations that meditation (and prayer) can calm us down, but now research is supporting the premise that physical changes can occur in the body when the mind quiets. Studies found reduced inflammation, increased mitochondria function, increased insulin production, and DNA stabilization in meditating test subjects. Results were cumulative, with long-term meditators showing the greatest effects. To maximize health, consider learning how to relax and de-stress using breathing and meditation practices.
